This book starts with a group of six teenagers who meet an an artistic summer camp in the 1970's and follows them through several decades of adulthood. The author writes with great wit and sensitivity to her characters, exploring their romances, career ups and downs, and interactions with eah other.

Six teenagers sit in a teepee at a summer camp in the weeks before Richard Nixon resigns the presidency in 1974. They try to define their presence there, the three boys and the three girls.

Solid American nostalgia novel. If you want to read about life in summer camp, with believable characters, and then watch them grow up into adults in the big city, with the inevitable cynicism that comes with it, then this should appeal.
